  3.      LBGolf is a very unique multi-user tournament oriented graphical
  4. golf game that can be played on BBS's, networks, and on your PC at home.
  5. As many as 99 simultaneous players can compete against each other in
  6. real-time for optional prizes.  As a door game, LBGolf is a revolutionary
  7. product raising the standard for future BBS games and there is no
  8. additional charge for multi-node support.  As for networks, there just
  9. are not very many multi-user games available, so LBGolf is a very welcome
  10. addition.  As a stand-alone game, LBGolf plays great at any CPU speed and
  11. requires no special hardware.

  13.      This is a FULLY FUNCTIONAL EVALUATION COPY of LBGolf.  LBGolf is a
  14. copyrighted product and is not public domain.  After evaluating LBGolf
  15. for 21 days, you have a moral and legal obligation of paying for this
  16. software.  Very few authors make a completely uncrippled version of their
  17. software available to the general public when the software is of top
  18. quality and great complexity like LBGolf is.  Whether or not another
  19. SHAREWARE version of LBGolf with any new features will be available
  20. depends on a large percentage of LBGolf users paying for the software.
  21. The previous release of LBGolf did NOT get enough registrations.  You
  22. have been given a second chance.  Otherwise, this will be the last
  23. version of LBGolf that is Shareware and new versions of LBGolf will be
  24. commercial software.

  26.      Distribution of the files in the LBGolf 1.81 archive and all LBGolf
  27. courses by individuals is encouraged.  Other LBGolf files may not be
  28. distributed.  See FILES.TXT for the files that should be in the LBGolf
  29. 1.81 archive.  LBGolf may NOT be sold in or to retail stores with prior
  30. written permission from Valley Programming.  Running LBGolf on a network
  31. requires payment for only one copy per server.

  33.      Besides the LBGolf program itself, you need to become familiar with
  34. the LAN/BBS Tournament Golf Utilities program (LBUtils).  This program is
  35. used to manage players and tournaments.  You must use LBUtils when you
  36. want to start a new tournament.

  38.      The TSR "Share" program that is supplied with DOS is normally
  39. required to be installed when running LBGolf.  Share should be loaded from
  40. your autoexec.bat file or config.sys file.  Add "SHARE /F:4096 /L:255" to
  41. your autoexec.bat file for best results.  Do NOT execute Share other than
  42. at boot time.  Share should be in your DOS directory and your DOS
  43. directory should be in your path.

  45.      There are two different methods of entering the hook and power.  The
  46. default method when not using a configuration file uses timing.  The
  47. default method when using a configuration file does not use timing.  You
  48. will need to determine what method is best for you.  See the LBGOLF.DOC
  49. and LBGOLF.CFG files for more information.

  51.    If using DESQview, you need to set the KEYBOARD CONFLICT to C.  If not
  52. set to C or higher, the keyboard will not be cleared after each key is
  53. pressed when playing locally.

  55.      If you run a BBS, you need to edit the LBGOLF.CFG file to suit
  56. your BBS and use LBGOLF LBGOLF.CFG.  LBGolf directly supports the
  57. DOOR.SYS, CALLINFO.BBS, DORINFOx.DEF, and SFDOORS.DAT drop files.

  87.      CompuServe users can type GO SWREG to access the Shareware
  88. Registration Database to order a registered version of any Valley
  89. Programming product.  Choose to search by "Author's User ID" and type
  90. 72630,1022.  You will then see a menu of all current Valley Programming
  91. shareware products that you can select LBGolf from, then follow the
  92. rest of the prompts to complete the ordering process.  This is the
  93. fastest method of ordering.

  95.                        WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  97.      No matter how you choose to order your registered copy of LBGolf,
  98. you will be sent the absolute latest version, a disk containing several
  99. courses, and a utility that creates an ANSI file (see SAMPLE.ANS) that
  100. is used to advertise the use of LBGolf on your system which displays the
  101. leader board and tournament information.  Shipments are usually made
  102. within two days after the ordering information is received.  The courses
  103. that are listed below will be included on the course disk along with any
  104. new courses that will fit on a single disk.

  174. architects that create a new completely original LBGolf eighteen hole
  175. course.  Courses must be mailed to Valley Programming, P.O. Box 34085,

  177. May 31st, 1993.  You must own a registered copy of LBGolf to be eligable

  180. LBGolf courses are ASCII files that you create with any standard text
  181. editor.  Load GOLDOAKS.SCR into your favorite DOS editor to see an actual
  182. LBGolf course.  When you want to start making your first LBGolf course,
  183. just copy GOLDOAKS.SCR to another .SCR file and modify it.  Remember,
  184. though, that courses must be completely original to be entered in the
  185. LBGolf Course Architecture Contest.

  188. got your copy of LBGolf 1.80 after May 31st, 1993, you should order the
  189. latest registered version of LBGolf which will come with the courses that
  190. won the contest(s) and information about any new contests.
